True Confessions

August 23rd, 2008 by Avonar

Inspired by the True Priest Confessions over at Dwarf Priest and True Mage Confessions over at Armegeddon’s Coming, I wanted to add my own two cents. I’ll try and keep them priest related, okay? Let the soul-baring revelations begin!

  • I gear to raid (or progress at least). I do not raid to gear. Skill > gear.
  • I rarely read the quest text, unless it catches my attention and I get into the story. Especially not since I use TourGuide these days.
  • I honestly think night elf men are hot. Dwarves aren’t bad, either, generally speaking…
  • When I’m bored in 25 man content you’ll either find me dpsing (not with the wand, I don’t dare after the RL asked who was wanding on Al’ar) or keep rolling hots up on the tank. For a priest, that means keeping a whole row of renews constantly ticking. If I’m really bored, there may be a book involved.
  • I didn’t start using Shadow Word: Death until a few weeks ago - and that’s because I saw it come up on WSS stats, showing that I’d done a good bit of damage with it when I was mind controlled.
  • I can’t stand to delete epics. See the conversation with the GM about this.
  • I’ve been known to plan my RL schedule around my guild’s raiding schedule as much as possible.
  • I have the priest patch from Jinx, I just haven’t decided what to stick it to, yet.
  • I can’t heal with Grid. I wonder if this makes me a lesser person.
  • We’d been running ZA for a few months before I found out (read: was told) that Healbot can’t dispell mind control in there.
  • I care about the healing meters. I don’t really give a rat’s.. umm, if this is a confession, I’ll keep it clean.. about the dps meters, except to get an idea of how people are doing.
  • I’m anal retentive enough that it annoys me that ArkInventory rearranges my herbs.
  • I’ve been known to carry on up to four conversations during whisper on trash.
  • I get teased for my American accent on Vent.
  • People asking for healing really, really pisses me off. Those are the times when it’s good that I use push to talk on Vent.
  • I broke the Primal Mooncloth set for the T4 set, even though I knew the PMC was better. It was just so ugly…
  • I do save DKP sometimes, no matter what the officers say.
  • I have never bought any of the mounts in the game for Av under my own power. The first one was a loan because I didn’t believe that the mount could actually cost that much. The flying mount was because someone wanted me to come heal a TK instance and I couldn’t get there without a mount. The third one was because friends left the server and gave me all their stuff.
  • I miss my Lightwell. It was quirky.
  • I love PvP with a very unholy vengeance.
  • If people are annoying me in a battleground, I’ll just dps. Even if I see that they need healing.
  • I am inordinately proud of my gear - even if it’s just a collection of binary numbers in a database.
  • I won’t toss dots onto anything but the main boss in instances - because I’ve broken far too many sheep by being confused as to the targets.
  • Criticism at the wrong moment towards me in a raid can be deadly, as I can get all flustered by thinking I’m doing stuff wrong and by being embarrassed. This is generally a bad thing, as on a raid, I need to be on my toes. WTB a thicker skin.
  • I generally don’t have a title up because I think it’s showing off. Even though I’ve collected every one I can get, except the “of the Shattered Sun.” I can’t be bothered to pay for a title. Just Avonar is enough for me.
  • In a perverse way, I was proud during that bug a while back that made you have a title showing - my only title at the time was “Private”, but it showed how long Av had been around.
  • I love pally tanks. I love going fast. And I am meanly glad they need mana sometimes, too.
  • It’s my personal mission to keep those suicidal mages alive. Why? Because it’s a fun challenge - and it’s fun seeing how surprised they are when they’re still alive.
  • I had one of those cat pets from Elwynn Forest - but I gave it to a low level in Stormwind, because I felt guilty about taking it into battle.
  • One of the reasons the yeti is my favorite pet is that it’s just as big as a gnome. This is great ammunition to tease them with.

Hmm. Enough soul baring for today, I think…
